Help!  Relief efforts for earthquake victims  

On 8 October an earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale killed 90,000 of thousands of people in Pakistan and injured countless others, flattening entire villages and causing massive damage to infrastructure.

The earth quake in Pakistan on 8^th of October 2005 has changed the social and economical situation of the country.  Thousands of people died, thousands are homeless, thousands have become blind and physically handicap.

Society for Disabled Women is making genuine efforts to find out about the women and children who have become disabled and homeless. According to the local newspapers 1-2 percent of total loss children and women have become physically and visually impaired.

SDW at the local level have collected food materials, clothing’s and sent to the victims of earthquake.

The situation at present concerning people affected, increasing ratio of disability among children and women is worse. 

SDW is just concentrating on women and children to uplift, who have become disabled and orphan and homeless.

These disabled children and women need our support at this crucial time.

Future plan for disabled children victims

Rehabilitation Shelter Home to provide shelter to 100 disabled/ orphan children victims of earthquake

Needs of the disabled orphan, homeless children and women

Blankets, clothes, food, wheelchairs, medicines etc.

Mobile medical rehabilitation is very necessary at this crucial time for disabled victims

SDW has a plan to build a shelter home for disabled, orphan children.

The HORRIBLE winter snow is killing infant children and other thousands of children who are living in tents. SDW has open small school and need school supplies and shelter for safety of children.

There is no single local organization present in the quake affected areas working with disabled children specifically. SDW volunteers are already working but we need financial assistance to strengthen our activities to work for long term period.
